ABOUT KEVIN PIGG

Hello there and welcome to my page. I am extremely proud to have worked in the emergency management field throughout the last 20 years of my career. One of my strongest attributes is the rare ability of having served at the local, State and Federal levels before moving into private consulting. I knew early on in my life I wanted to help others and found my calling when I entered the Disaster Management program at the University of North Texas. Since that time, I have delved into numerous, exciting roles within the field in order to increase my understanding and capabilities and apply them to this world. My main areas of expertise lie in Grant\'s Management, Disaster Planning, Emergency Operations Center Coordination and Training Programs. Some of my accomplishments are: COVID-19 Response and Recovery efforts for multi jurisdictional agencies. Recipient of the United States Secretary of Homeland Security Award for Excellence for my planning work at the Federal level. Shelter Operations Manager for the largest Federal disaster human/pet shelter operation in United States history during Hurricane Gustav (DR-1786). Co-Author of the FEMA Incident Action Planning (IAP) Guide. Supervisory roles in Emergency Operations Centers, Incident Command Centers and Joint Field Offices throughout the nation. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in local, State and Federal Resource Preparedness and Disaster Planning initiatives. Over 10 years in Public Assistance & Hazard Mitigation Recovery Management. Training, exercise design, disaster coursework development and lead instructor for emergency managers and first responders throughout the United States. Responsible for the creation and implementation of FEMA\'s All-Hazard Incident Command System Forms. Numerous grants written for local funding through local, State and Federal avenues (BioWatch, HMGP, MMRS, UASI etc.) Formally recognized by Hawaii, Guam, Micronesia, Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Nebraska, Arizona, North Dakota, Nevada, California, Washington DC, New Hampshire, Maryland, Alabama, New York, New Jersey and American Samoa for my work. First hand/direct on the job experience with 27 Federally declared US disasters from 2001-present. One of the greatest accomplishments of my life has been working along-side our Nation\'s selfless heroes who give their all to make this world a safer more resilient place. I look forward to being a part of working alongside you in the ever growing and fast paced approach to dealing with emergencies and disasters.
