ABOUT KEVIN OREILLY
I support businesses in the Wakefield district and Yorkshire area via the Apprenticeship levy transfer scheme. I have full responsibility for £1 million of the Council’s Apprenticeship Levy pot. I support and guide businesses, both SME\'s and Levy payers to meet their needs via financial support from WMDC\'s unspent Levy pot. This initiative helps employers meet the FULL training costs of both new apprentices and the upskilling of existing staff, for example through CPD. I also offer advice and guidance to Large External Levy paying businesses on how they themselves might want to help other businesses through their corporate responsibility charter. This involves how they might want to transfer their own unspent levy funds to support similar businesses in specific sectors of their choosing in the recruitment of apprentices, or upskilling of existing staff. I have done this by networking with \'The Apprenticeship Ambassador Network\' and also \'The West Yorkshire Combined Authority\' and my wide network of contacts. Recent partnerships I have cultivated include Howdens Joinery who are currently outsourcing to develop Apprenticeships in Construction disciplines. I have also recently partnered with the NHS who wish to support businesses through pledging unspent Levy with Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care as well as Third party Sectors. I also work with Amazon UK in respect of Levy transfer. All applications to access this funding are filtered through myself before I put the proposal to the Pledging organizatiions. The latest project I’m working on is ENABLE. This is the ‘Emergency Network for Apprenticeships in Blue Light Establishments’. This initiative combines Police Fire & NHS services to allow the transfer of unspent Levy funding between them to ‘enable’ recruitment and up skilling of staff. If any of this is something which could be of interest then please get in touch!Contact me: Phone: 07•••••••92 / Email: k•••••••@wakefield.gov.uk
