About Kevin Mauger
Before retirement in March of 2024, I worked 27 different jobs, but this includes all the jobs I had growing up and through college. I actually only worked for one company since college. Graduating University of Delaware on a Friday, I started working at NCC the following Monday. Back then, it was named Northeast Conveyor Corporation but is now NCC Automated Systems. NCC is an engineering and manufacturing company that builds conveyors and turnkey integrated systems in the food, packaging, ophthalmic, and automated assembly industries. To make it short and sweet, my career at NCC can be highlighted with the following: I bought it a million dollars insolvent, built a team that restored NCC’s luster, gave almost half the company stock to the employees in the form of an ESOP, and then, in one of the most fulfilling moments of my career, sold the company to ATS Automation, of which the proceeds were shared pro rata with employees. This was life changing for many:)Along the way, we developed and built our company, including several new brands, I’ve discovered new ways of running and organizing a company, and I ran through a wall of flames to escape a car fire! I’ve discovered that all businesses are “people businesses” and that focusing upon employees and customers is what makes me whole. My tag line for LinkedIn is “Altruism through Entrepreneurialism” and I’m not sure if Entrepreneurialism is even a word, but I like it. I believe in the Good in people, am optimistic by nature, and love change. I believe that the best leaders work for their team, not the other way around, and I believe that people just want to feel like they can make a difference. I am also a weird combination of logic and emotion. I guess this is what happens when a competitive, only child is a math guy. In retirement, I’m as busy as I’ve ever been, but with a strange de-emphasis on deadlines, schedules and the clock. It’s an odd change to say the least, but I am loving it. I’m available to help leadership teams, others in leadership positions, or board level roles. I love a challenge, speaking to groups, and exploring growth ideas and opportunities. Most of all, I love it when Values are pure.
