About Kevin Limtao

Kevin Limtao is an R&D Systems Engineer at Ascensia Diabetes Care. He is currently working on early-phase product development for the broad portfolio of products that originated from the merger between Bayer Health’s diabetes division and Panasonic Healthcare. Prior to his time at Ascensia, Kevin worked as a Staff Bioengineer for Triple Ring Technologies—an ISO13485 certified, engineering consulting firm. He is a co-inventor on two patents for his work in rapid, point-of-care diagnostics and non-invasive breath testing. As an individual contributor, he developed immunoassays for automated platforms, instruments for surgical use, and devices for drug and sensor delivery. As a project leader, he managed large, multidisciplinary teams using Agile project management methods. His microfluidic research at UC Irvine involved him in numerous projects such as devices for the capture of circulating tumor cells, small sample Western Blotting, and automated immunoassays for prognostic indications.
