ABOUT KEVIN
I’m a 4th-year Electrical Engineering student with a strong passion for research and industry experience. Currently, I am a Research Assistant at McMaster University, where I explore my research interests, contribute to innovative projects, and continuously learn. My work focuses on wireless communications technology and deep learning-based image restoration. I am currently co-authoring an image de-moiréing paper for submission to ICCV 2025 and participating in the NTIRE 2025 Image Super-Resolution Challenge at CVPR 2025. In addition to research, I am an intern at Toronto Hydro, gaining hands-on experience in the engineering industry and learning from top professionals in power engineering. Beyond engineering, I have a keen interest in finance and economics. I stay up to date with global markets and personally invest in equities in the Canadian and US markets. To deepen my knowledge, I actively take courses from the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and Wall Street Oasis. I earned the LSEG Finance Essentials certificate, where I explored key financial concepts, including economics, currencies, and capital markets. I also became proficient in Refinitiv Workspace, which I regularly use for market and company analysis. I stay engaged with McMaster\'s DeGroote Finance and Investment Council by attending events, competitions, and speaker sessions. Recently, I placed 4th out of 30 participants in a Mergers and Acquisitions competition by AmplifyME. Additionally, I competed in the more competitive Finance Accelerator simulation, taking on an Investment Banking role, where I placed 7th out of 130 participants.
