ABOUT KEVIN LAWRENCE

I have an extensive knowledge of fleet management, and the waste industry initially developed from working in every aspect of it as part of the family business and latterly working in a large-scale private equity environment. The performance standards demanded have been high and, as a result, I now possess considerable experience and understanding of managing a complex business-critical fleet and plant portfolio. These skills are transferable across a variety of industries.In terms of the waste management industry, I know how to advise each customer in detail on how their waste material can be processed. The different options available such as, wheelie bins, FEL’S, REL’S, skips, roll on/offs, compacting, static, mobile, and what sizes, and the types and variations available within these ranges. The waste material itself, I know what can be recycled and providing its viable I will look at other waste streams that we have not tried. In addition, I have project managed several site clearances where we take complete control, putting in machines, and labour to clear all the waste on site.I have extensive knowledge of end-of-life (ELV) processing, auctioning of salvage vehicles, green part recovery, export of green parts, core parts, warehouse, distribution, logistics, metal recycling, and commodity sales working for a medium a sized family run business, and then I worked with a world leading metal recycling company where I delivered circa £2M refurbishment project, which included, installation of new tools, equipment, buildings, and groundworks to support major ELV contracts. Trained staff in lean process, worked closely with the EHS team to draw up SWPs, and RAs and championed continuous improvements maintaining full Health and Safety and environmental compliance.
