Having twelve years of experience in advertising, telecommunications and software industries, in 1994 I joined the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) as Post Manager-Vancouver. In July 1998, I was appointed Australia’s Honorary Consul when Austrade took over management of the Consulate. The Consulate delivers a full range of consular services to the approximately Australians living and/or visiting Western Canada. Vancouver is the 10th busiest Consulate in Australia\'s overseas network. I\'ve had the privilege of working with Australian companies across a range of diverse industries from food, wine, consumer products, natural resources and services (including the cultural industries) – many of which are now well established in the Canadian market. I\'ve also promoted investment into Australia with a particular focus on attracting Canadian health and technology companies to set up in Australia. I\'m currently working with Australian companies interested in selling into the Canadian market.
