Make determinations if applications are eligible/ineligible by review of excluded exposures by reinsurance, class code match, and hazard group assignment-Communicates with account executives, clients, agents and underwriters to obtain further information, quote rates, present proposals, explain company underwriting policies, or service existing accounts-Assists support staff in resolving problems and questions-Analyze prospective insured’s in respect to established underwriting guidelines-Complete account underwriting which involves running premium and loss analysis reports and rating models with details to support decision to offer quote at the indicated premium and analysis that addresses hazards, controls, as well as claim frequency/severity trends-Stays current with workers’ compensation law, regulations, NCCI rules, market conditions and company procedures-Negotiate terms with policyholders or their agents/brokers-Collaborate with claim specialists, along with loss control and premium audit representatives, for risk assessment-Coordinates and conducts onsite safety audits of current policy holders as well as prospective clients-Evaluates and analyzes workplace safety programs and committees in regards to mitigation of workers compensation claims-Generate written reports that help identify specific workplace hazards, exposures and opportunities for a safer work environment-Provide on-site safety training for policy holders-OSHA outreach authorized trainer.
