ABOUT KEVIN J. ZEMAITIS
Development and refinement of next-generation instrumentation is the driving force that has led -omics to the point we are at today. My research at the Environmental Molecular Sciences Laboratory (EMSL) within Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) sits at the boundaries of source and instrument development, and subsequent method development and applications – from design, construction, initial performance evaluation, and deployment. This has been a recurrent theme, and my interests center primarily upon exemplifying use of novel technology and methods with hybrid Fourier transform mass spectrometry (FTMS) detection for non-targeted and targeted spatial metabolomics, lipidomics, and proteomics.
