ABOUT KEVIN HILTON

Fully trained journalist with experience in magazine news and feature writing and radio broadcast, including reporting, presentation and production. During most of my freelance career (27 years) I have concentrated on technology, contributing to specialist trade publications - IBC365, Resolution, Broadcast TECH, AV (Audio Visual), Televisual, TV Technology, TVBEurope, Broadcast Bridge, Installation, Red Shark News, Studio Sound, Pro Sound News Europe (the last two both now sadly gone) and newsstand magazines and newspapers, including Focus, New Scientist and the Guardian.I have also written film and video/DVD reviews as well as features about cinema genres and interviews with film directors. I regularly contribute features on leading directors of photography and technology innovators for British Cinematographer magazine, the journal of the BSC.After training for a Diploma in radio journalism at Falmouth Technical College, where I learned news and feature scripting, audio editing, law for journalists, shorthand (Teeline), touch typing and British Constitution, I worked as a technical operator for BFBS Forces Radio, where I was also given the opportunity to present and produce programmes.I later moved into magazine journalism, working on Pro Sound News Europe and Broadcast Systems International before becoming editor of Sound and Communications Systems. This gave me experience in page layout, subbing, design and magazine production.As a freelance journalist I am also experienced in copywriting and producing press material, supplements, case studies, white papers and show guides for PR agencies, companies and exhibition organisers.I have a wide general knowledge and am a keen follower of current affairs. At the moment I am developing podcasts and other content for online outlets.
