Commissioner Beckner has been a champion for at-risk children and their families. He created the Juvenile Justice Task Force whose mission is to help at-risk youth become more productive citizens within our community. He continues to promote fiscal responsibility, sustainable growth with respect for the environment and transparency in government, as well as advocating for a multimodal transportation system.As part of his duties as a County Commissioner, Beckner currently serves on the following Boards and Councils: Chairman of the Hillsborough County Environmental Protection Commission,(EPC). Arts Council, Children\'s Board, Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART). Metropolitan Planning Organization, and Public Safety Coordinating Council (PSCC).Kevin has led:The formation of the Juvenile Task ForceRegulating & shutting down abusive Pain Clinics (Pill Mills)Creating the Hillsborough County First Responders Fallen Heroes Fund and Memorial TributeLed the effort to create and pass (first in the State of Florida) legislation to stop insurance fraud via staged auto accidents

Kevin Beckner has shown responsible leadership in action from day one.
