ABOUT KEVIN BAUM
Interdisciplinary AI Safety Expert | Leading Research in Responsible AI, AI Alignment & Human Oversight | Heading Research Group for Responsible AI and Machine Ethics (RAIME) at DFKI | Executive Board Member of the Center for European Research in Trusted AI (CERTAIN) As a philosopher (Dr. phil.) and computer scientist (M.Sc.), I work at the intersection of normative reasoning and AI development. My research focuses on creating trustworthy AI systems through improved explainability, ethical frameworks, and effective human oversight mechanisms. I lead the Responsible AI and Machine Ethics (RAIME) research group at DFKI, where we tackle the critical challenges of aligning AI with human values, ethical principles, and various kinds of normative expectations.My interdisciplinary approach aims to develop AI systems that are not only powerful but also transparent, enable accountability attribution, and are aligned with societal needs.
