In my current role at Morningstar Indexes, I implement a comprehensive data strategy by establishing a robust quality control framework for vendor ESG data, ensuring historical accuracy and maintaining SOP. Developed an ESG data validation framework to detect potential changes during index reconstitution and rebalancing, ensuring alignment with methodologies. Monitored vendor updates, analyzed impacts, and addressed client queries on data and methodologies while aligning feedback with vendors. Leveraged Python and SQL to enhance efficiency and collaborated with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.Independently developed a RAG-based data extraction solution, along with a Streamlit-based user interface for a URL-driven Q&A LLM model that provides question-and-answer functionality based on input URLs and documentsI’ve grown significantly in terms of professional skills and mindset. One key area of growth has been developing a strong sense of ownership over my work. This sense of responsibility motivates me to stay constantly updated and proactive in my role. Working with various internal stakeholders, and external vendors, has provided me with invaluable exposure and learning opportunities. Through this, I’ve gained a clearer understanding of how my contributions impact the company, both financially and reputationally.Working on providing ESG insights (Industry trends, peer comparison, Material ESG Issues relevance, strength and Improvement areas) to corporate clients at Morningstar Sustainalytics. Also worked on ESG data and VBA for automation to improve the operating efficiency of the deliverables which led to saving around 3 hr (~ 48%) per client delivery. Topic Modeling using Natural Language Processing (NLP) of no. of ESG and sustainability reporting of different companies. Also completed courses on CDSB, TCFD, SASB, PRI, and ESRS.
