About Josh Keuper
I graduated from University of Cincinnati in 2019 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a Minor in Marketing. I am currently working for Siemens Mobility Customer Services located in Sacramento, CA as a Sr. Commodity Manager for bogie suspension, wheelsets, bearings, traction motors, gearboxes and couplers. This is a external-facing role that requires market, vendor, and technical product knowledge to be successful in procuring materials in demand for many different projects. My previous role within SMI CS was working as a Procurement Project Manager in the strategic procurement group. My main focuses were ensuring available stock and reducing material costs for VMI customer accounts as well as compiling price lists for potential customer bids.Previously a member of Siemens Operations Leadership Development Program. In past rotations, I was managing a global project from a remote setting to localize a new generation product to be assembled in the New Kensington, PA facility. Additionally, I performed a value stream analysis across the main focus factories in the Norwood, OH facility. This analysis provided insight on bottleneck operations, compared actual to routed times, and allowed for design of a future state to reduce identified waste. In another previous roles within the OLDP, I applied digitalization technologies to improve production efficiency and floor status visibility while reducing over-processing of data. Implementing digitalization technologies in a manufacturing setting allows for faster reactions to problems, reduced down times, better communication between teams, and data-driven decisions. In another previous role within the OLDP, I focused on applying Lean methodologies to a new manufacturing site. My responsibilities included manufacturing layout and flow design, implementing new equipment to improve efficiency, safety, and tool organization. Previously worked for Siemens in both Engineering and Environmental, Health, and Safety roles. Other previous roles include: Process Engineering and Continuous Improvement Co-Op at Owens Corning, Process Engineering Co-Op at St. Bernard Soap Company, and Research Assistant at Active Motif.
