Assistant Manager – Strategic Sourcing (SCM) Chief contributions include:Lead Strategic Sourcing activities for new projects, alternate sourcing, and Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).Specialized in sourcing forging commodities and complete machining processes, with extended responsibilities across castings, sheet metal, rubber, and proprietary components.Conduct initial feasibility studies, including:Creation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)Machine selection based on technical requirementsRaw material selection and weight calculationsMachining cycle time estimationReview engineering drawings with strong knowledge of GD & T, identifying and selecting optimal suppliers based on capability and quality.Float RFQs, perform zero-based costing, and conduct cost analysis to support sourcing decisions.Collaborate with suppliers to validate technical feasibility, and finalize PFDs and TFG (Tooling & Fixture Guidelines).Drive commercial negotiations, finalize pricing, and issue purchase agreements.Coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional teams (IPD, Quality, Engineering) for initial sample development and non-conformance resolution.Prepare detailed BOMs (Bill of Materials) and routing documentation for manufacturing.Lead VAVE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) initiatives to achieve cost savings by:Optimizing process flowsSelecting efficient machines and toolsReducing material weight and machining cycle timeEnsure smooth handover to PPC (Production Planning & Control) with complete documentation and validated production-ready parts.
