We started Velaspan with a simple belief… \'good enough\' networks aren’t good enough in the real world. I saw teams wrestling with fragile Wi-Fi, overbuilt architectures, and security that looked great on paper but lagged in practice. Our answer was to obsess over design discipline… and then go further… detect, engage, and learn when things inevitably break.That journey reshaped my perspective. I moved from \'ship the project\' to \'own the outcome.\' We built repeatable services around enterprise Wi-Fi, private cellular (CBRS/LTE/5G), and cybersecurity/GRC… and we launched Active Cyber Engagement (ACE), our managed cyber deception service that favors signals over signatures.Applied AI… where I’m hands-onAI strategy & policy for SMB and mid-market bringing governance that sticks.AI QuickStart / JumpStart to take teams from ideas to governed pilots to measurable impact.Custom agents & automations to pull structure from messy ops data and speed up day-2 networking and security.Behind the scenes, we’ve had misses. Designs that were technically right but operationally heavy. Security that tracked activity instead of outcomes. We course-corrected. Simplified runbooks. Reduced MTTD/MTTR. Stayed vendor-agnostic while still maintaining strong relationships with our manufacturer partners.What’s next? More AI x Networking/SecOps playbooks. Pragmatic Zero Trust/NAC guidance. And sharper network & cyber assessments that surface risk and technical debt early.Off the clock I play ice hockey a few nights a week.
