I help my clients build and protect their brands in the US and internationally, including intellectual property asset acquisition, development, exploitation, enforcement, licensing, joint development/co-branding, anti-counterfeit and tax planning. I counsel clients in fashion, retail, consumer products, and new technologies on both domestic and foreign law issues specific to those industries. My background is in corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing, venture capital, private equity, and corporate governance issues. Investigate and take legal action in trademark matters, including cease and desist letters, litigating trademark-related claims, office actions, opposition/cancellation proceedings, portfolio development, and transactional due diligence. Litigate IP-related claims. Develop and help implement global IP strategies and policies. Perform risk assessments on the use and creation of trademarks and copyright material, including with regard to fair use and free speech.
