I develop transistor simulators to model electron flow and device performance of a single transistor in a way that is scalable to cell level. This internal tool can be used to understand current technology issues, optimization the process and guide technology roadmaps. My work involves the creation of new physical models that capturing scattering and quantum effects along with work supporting and training users, debugging issues and doing continuous optimization and validation. The code is written in OOP C++ with a tcl wrapper and makes extensive use of external numerical libraries and parallelization. I also enjoy modeling a variety of reliability concerns such as gate leakage/VBD, hot carrier, soft-error and BTI.
