AVIL is a nonprofit organization with a mission to dismantle threats to voter freedom to strengthen democracy.⌨ Learn more about our services at: As Nevada State Director, I am accountable for leading all AVIL staff (including two Campaign Managers and a Senior Manager) to develop, manage, and administer the statewide voter rights program with the goal of promoting responsible election administration and expanding voting access for Nevada residents. To carry out my mandate, I develop key strategies to strengthen the mission’s reach and impact and promote increased collaboration with partners. I also manage a $300K annual budget, ensuring all communications, advocacy, PR, fund development, and internal programs continue to meet the needs of AVIL’s core constituents.Among my accomplishments, I have: Served as spokesperson to handle all Nevada voting rights interview requests. Established Nevada’s AVIL 2020 priority and media plan. Steered the development of marketing assets, radio/digital ads, events, and press releases. Co-developed the voting rights policy agenda for Nevada’s 81 State legislative session. Led a 4-month election regulations advocacy project; passed 29 of 31 regulations. Built coalitions of values-aligned nonprofit organizations. Cultivated relationships with legislators, election departments, and the County Board of Commissioners. Facilitated the donation of $136K+ to nonprofits. Distributed 20K voter information cards to advocate for Native voter access and AAPI language access. Collaborated with tribal-led organizations and government agencies to expand Native accessible polling locations from 7 to 17. Leveraged coalition politics and digital advertising to advocate for an expansive voter rights bill (AB321). Led voter registration and vote by mail media campaigns including ads, 19 billboards, and text messages, resulting in 10M+ impressions and 53K+ click-throughs.
