About Kerry Cole

I’m a Vice President in New York Life’s Office of Governmental Affairs, where I work at the intersection of public policy, insurance, and financial services. I manage a broad mix of issues—from federal insurance regulation and investments to sustainability, digital assets, systemic risk, derivatives, data privacy, and emerging questions around AI. I also have hands-on experience with policies tied to disability insurance, paid family and medical leave, supplemental benefits, and worker classification issues.Day to day, I collaborate with leaders across New York Life to shape and advance the company’s legislative and regulatory priorities.Before New York Life, I spent six years at the Investment Company Institute (ICI), the trade association for the regulated fund industry. That role gave me a front-row seat to how financial markets, regulation, and public policy fit together—and how quickly they evolve.I earned my BA in Political Science and Philosophy from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!) and my MPS in Legislative Affairs from The George Washington University.
