ABOUT KERRA CHOMLAK

At Associated Engineering, I am looking to support municipalities, Indigenous communities and all types of organizations in their quests for climate resilience. This requires good climate data, collaboration and prudent planning. We have a strong team here that can help communities and organizations understand their climate risks and vulnerabilities, and we can connect you with funding to enhance the resilience of your infrastructure. At ClimateWest, I worked to make Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba more resilient to our changing climate by braiding Western and Indigenous knowledges and building understanding about climate projections, risks, vulnerabilities, costs and opportunities. In my role at the City of Leduc, I created the city’s first climate adaptation and mitigation plans, managed the waste diversion program, enhanced natural areas and helped inspire one of Canada‘s largest solar rooftop installations. At the Clean Air Strategic Alliance, I facilitated consensus agreements between industry, environmental groups and all levels of government on emissions from the electricity and transportation sectors and from confined feeding operations. I live and work on Treaty 6 Territory and in the Métis Homeland. Please feel free to reach out with your ideas and questions for building climate resilience in Alberta and across Canada.
