ABOUT KERI J. MIMS
Graduate student currently interning in the field of mental health and rehabilitation counseling, primarily with children and adolescents. My background involves individuals and groups (of all ages) with various disabilities such as learning, physical, and behavioral difficulties, as well as other conditions and disorders. I am passionately interested in enhancing the development of people throughout their lifespan and in promoting excellence. I believe that through the use of encouragement and promotion of optimum mental, physical, and emotional health individuals with disabilities can improve their self-awareness, self-confidence, discipline, and independence. I am also particularly interested in the use of equine-assisted therapy in order to achieve goals that enhance physical, emotional, social, cognitive, behavioral, and educational skills for individuals, groups, and families.
