I worked on several problems where I have been literally dropped into the mix and told to figure it out. Now I do have a few battle scares, but mostly I have experience on how to gain consensus, find the root cause of the issue and come up with a solution. And this solution does not always reside in the box. A creative thinker. As an outstanding “cat herder” I understand the challenges and complexities of gaining collaboration from many groups, whether they are clients, leaders in a community, different divisions of a company, senior levels of management or internal and external partners of a project. Gaining collaboration goes deeper than getting a group of people together in the same room to discuss a project. To get the group there, I pride myself on understanding what motivates all of the parties, understanding what is important to them, and then tailoring the message to them to meet those needs. By doing this, I gain their buy-in in the project and am able to build and maintain momentum as we move toward a common goal. I do all of this with poise, professionalism and good dose of humour. My passion for a project is contagious. There is an art and a science to strategic development. With more than 15 years of experience in marketing and strategic development, I have a deep understanding of the value of a carefully designed marketing strategy and business strategy. I am a believer in lifelong learning. My professional and personal mantra can be summed up as “say what you mean, mean what you say”. I have earned a respected reputation among my managers and peers as a leader who combines an exceptional level of expertise with unwavering integrity, professionalism, and commitment to finding the right solution to the right problem, for the right price oh and a good dose of humour.
