About Keren Ileana Carrión

Keren Carrión is a bilingual visual journalist based in New York City. She is currently a short-form video producer, visuals editor, and photojournalist at NPR.She was previously a photo and video journalist for KERA, an NPR and PBS affiliate in Dallas, and served as a Report for America corps member for two years.Originally from Puerto Rico, she strives to tell the stories in her own communities and cares about the stories of underrepresented people.She also worked as a video editor at CNN in Atlanta, GA, and has interned with USA Today, Univision, The Hill, and is an alumna of the New York Times Student Journalism Institute.

   Develop, script and execute over 100+ short-form vertical video from pitch through publication for NPR’s social platforms, including Instagram and Tik Tok- Produce daily news video, photograph features and enterprise stories, and edit visual stories for NPR’s website and social media platforms- Monitor news wire services, live feeds, and user generated content for daily video or breaking news- Collaborate with reporters and hosts across different departments to repurpose in-depth reporting into short scripts, and write succinct headlines and captions for social media- Operate Canon C100 cameras for long-form video interviews
