About Kenza Slaoui

I like working on problems that are both technically deep and high-impact–where solving hard challenges actually moves the needle in the real world. Over the past year, that’s meant designing LLM pipelines for portfolio managers at Vanguard, building multi-agent systems to train UN diplomats, and researching AI applications in child welfare. The technical depth draws me in; the real-world impact propels me forward. I like to understand why systems work, not just how to make them work–grounding every project in the research behind it. Whether I am fine-tuning LLMs, designing multi-agent frameworks, or building evaluation pipelines, I care about the assumptions I’m making and how they might break down. I’m especially drawn to roles that sit at the intersection of research and application. Beyond the technical work, I care deeply about the people I work with and the environments we create together. Whether I\'m teaching 80+ students as a TA, advocating for graduate student affordability, or mentoring peers, I try to build spaces where people feel supported and heard. I recently graduated from the M.S. in Data Science program at Columbia University. Prior to that, I graduated as a Robertson Scholar, with a degree in Statistics from UNC Chapel Hill and Duke University.
