About Kenya A. Rodriguez
I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley off the US-Mexico border in a community full of rich Hispanic culture. As a first-generation Latina college student, I dedicate my time to progressing people of color in law, government, and politics. My desire for social progress stems from a childhood of cultural diversity and connection. Given my experience in one of the most diverse metropolitan areas in Texas, I research social, medical, and infrastructural issues affecting my people. Currently, I am studying Government at the University of Texas at Austin with a minor in Law, Justice & Society. Following my undergraduate studies, my goal is to attend law school, become an attorney, and break down barriers for Latina women in law and politics.
