Ken Tharp founded and currently owns and operates Iowa Equity Exchange, a nationwide Qualified Intermediary service company that helps property owners, investors and business owners defer capital gain taxes on the sale of property using Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code. We handle Section 1031 tax-deferred exchanges in Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Illinois, South Dakota, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, the entire Midwest, and across the United States. We are one of a small percentage of Qualified Intermediary service businesses that belong to the Federation of Exchange Accommodators. Ken also owns and manages a small portfolio of residential rental properties that he has grown over the past thirty years through the use of Section 1031 tax-deferred exchanges.
