About Kenta Yoshida
The future of the financial industry belongs to those who harness technology to its fullest potential.\" As a global finance professional with a passion for innovation, I have built my career at the intersection of banking and technology. After earning my MBA from MIT Sloan (Class of 2019) as a Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) scholar, I spent three transformative years driving business development between MUFG and Grab across Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Philippines. This collaboration brought together the expertise of big banks and big tech to unlock new opportunities in Southeast Asia. Since mid-2022, I have been based in Mumbai, leading investments in growth-stage Indian startups through the $300M MUFG Ganesha Fund. This role allows me to support India\'s vibrant startup ecosystem, focusing on digital innovation and sustainable growth. Before MIT, I worked in Global Markets (FICC) at MUFG, where I led a team to design and implement new systems across all branches. My earlier experiences include contributing to innovation labs in Japan and Peru, which shaped my understanding of fostering innovative cultures within large organizations. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education Development from the University of Tokyo (2008) and have furthered my expertise in product management and design thinking at Stanford University. While studying, I also gained unique insights into public policy through my part-time role at the Prime Minister’s Residential Office. At MIT Media Lab’s Digital Currency Initiative (DCI), I explored cutting-edge topics like Security Tokens, Asset Tokenization, and Stable Coins, contributing to research that is shaping the future of finance. Outside of work, I am a capriccioso cook and avid motorcycle rider who enjoys exploring new horizons both personally and professionally.
