About Kent Taylor
I am Division Director for the Assisted Acquisition Service, focused on IT modernization and O&M projects. My division manages over $3.1B in contracts. I approach client engagements with rigor, attention to detail, process excellence, and customer focus. Not only do I set clear expectations for my staff, but also provide them with the mindset and tools for operating successfully. I further align my staff and their performance with successful client outcomes. This approach has helped to grow my customer portfolio and maintain high customer retention rates. It has also cultivated a staff of highly capable project managers and future leaders. Prior to the Director role, I gained 8+ years of extensive pre-award and post-award experience as a Project Manager for multiple cost-type projects and served as the client lead for the EPA IT acquisition portfolio. I promote shared goals, maintain a strong focus on the client, and believe in being solutions-oriented to achieve the best outcomes. As such, I have been recognized in client IT award ceremonies for my exceptional contributions to enabling mission success. For example, I led the effort to consolidate EPA’s IT environment from 17 disparate contracts to 2 task orders. This enabled EPA\'s modernization projects to move from development to operations rapidly, increased operational efficiencies, and grew EPA’s customer base by 35% over the subsequent 5 year period. My previous roles include working as Business Manager for GSA FEDSIM and Program Advisor to the CIO at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. I hold an MBA from Georgetown University and a BS in Business Management from NC State University. Beyond my professional life, I am a real estate investor with a portfolio of both long-term and short-term rental properties.
