As a legislative intern on Capitol Hill, I support the daily operations of a congressional office, contributing to the development and advancement of policy initiatives. My responsibilities include: • Conducting comprehensive legislative research and analysis on key policy areas, such as environmental resilience, homeland security, energy policy, international relations, and emerging technologies. • Assisting in drafting memos, reports, and correspondence to clearly communicate policy positions to constituents, stakeholders, and other legislative offices. • Monitoring and summarizing congressional hearings, briefings, and committee meetings on topics related to my focus areas, providing senior staff with critical insights and updates. • Engaging in constituent services by responding to inquiries and facilitating communication between constituents and the office. • Supporting the office’s outreach and engagement efforts, including preparing materials for meetings with advocacy organizations. • Collaborating with legislative staff to develop strategies for advancing the Member’s legislative priorities, particularly in areas such as environmental resilience, homeland security measures, energy innovation, foreign policy, and fostering technological advancements. • Contributing to projects and initiatives that enhance the office’s legislative impact and align with my academic background in Political Science and International Relations.
