The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Manager (HR Manager 2) at Oregon State Police provides leadership and strategic guidance to the developing DEI unit within the Workforce Development and Support Bureau. This unit will consist of a Training and Development Specialist as well as a Policy Analyst with the objectives to include guiding meaningful change across the agency. The Unit will be tasked with ensuring successful completion of OSP\'s AA Plan as well as 5-year strategic roadmap where DEI has been identified as a strategic focus area. In addition to these tasks this position provides leadership for the agencies Inclusion Team which was formed in 2017. In identifying DEI as a focus area, OSP has been active in evaluating community engagement as well as workforce recruitment, retention, and support strategies including the development the Health, Wellness, and Resiliency unit. OSP is undertaking significant efforts to ensure they are an employer of choice, providing High-Quality public safety services, with holistic supports that retain and develop the roughly 1200 employees both sworn and unsworn staff across the state.Additional responsibilities- Participate as a member of the Executive Leadership Team.With the goal of Creating a Culture of Excellence and Accountability - Serve on the agency Audit Committee: providing oversight of all Department of State Police audit activities and ensure the integrity of the agencies internal audit process. Provide feedback and approval of agency risk assessment. Provide technical assistance to agency management- Serve as agency representative in statewide DEI Leaders/Affirmative Action representative meetings-Serve as a member of enterprise-wide DEIB Cabinet: practitioners from across the enterprise to advise on DEIB initiatives, priorities, and help operationalize equity across state government.*Singing the National Anthem at agency functions including Superintended Salute and Badge Ceremonies :)
