Initially asked to assist in the percussion section for Ballet West in the late 1970\'s while performing with the Utah Symphony, Kenny became the Principal Timpanist in 1982. Highlights and favorite performances include \"The Rite of Spring\",\"Carmina Burana\", and the snare drum solo for \"Bolero\".
ABOUT KENNY HODGES
Kenny Hodges is a professional musician who is also self employed as the producer of audiobooks, live remote recordings of talks and seminars, and as a mastering engineer. As an audio producer, he has produced more than 450 audiobooks, many of which have appeared on the New York Times Best-seller Lists. As a musician, He has performed as an on-call freelance percussionist with the Utah Symphony since 1976 and for Ballet West as the principal timpanist since 1982. He also served as Orchestra Personnel Manager for the Ballet West Orchestra from 2015 until 2020.Kenny also toured as the percussionist for THE OSMONDS from 1977 to 1982, performed on THE DONNY & MARIE SHOW, and acted as music contractor for numerous television shows taped at the Osmond Studios in Utah. He contracted musicians for THE CHILDREN\'S MIRACLE NETWORK TELETHON from 1983 until 1997. From 1985 to 1992 he produced more than 2,700 network radio programs for Mutual Radio/Westwood One, featuring interviews with major country and adult contemporary artists.
