The LaunchPad SBDC uses a data-driven approach to assist high technology and life science entrepreneurs with the development of investor presentations. One of my responsibilities is to participate in the screening of applicants for LaunchPad\'s investor pitch simulations. Panels of experts participate in the simulations, and score the performance of entrepreneurs along multiple criteria pertaining to the attractiveness of the market opportunity, investment opportunity and technical solution, as well as the quality of the business plan and management team. I am primarily responsible for building and managing the database of results obtained from these simulations, and providing entrepreneurs with analytical reports which compare their performance to the companies in the LaunchPad database which belong to their particular business segment. This enables the entrepreneur to focus his/her efforts on rectifying areas of weakness.
