ABOUT NSAH MALA KENNETH NSAH

I’m an award-winning & bilingual (EN-FR) poet-writer-storyteller, consultant, foresight and futures practitioner, educationist & interdisciplinary researcher. I work at the intersection of languages, cultures, literatures, environmental humanities, sustainability science, anticipatory governance, future generations, foresight and futures thinking to promote education, enhance intercultural understanding and tackle global challenges such as short-termism, irregular migration, climate change, biodiversity loss, deforestation, & environmental degradation. I\'m Chair of the Mbessa Kingdom Indigenous Commission for Future Generations and Sustainability (in Cameroon).I have a PhD in Arts, Literature & Cultural Studies, specialised in Comparative Literature and Environmental Humanities, from Aarhus University, Denmark. In my award-winning doctoral thesis on postcolonial ecocriticism and environmental literary activism, I explored the ROLE that literature (poems, plays, novels) can play in biodiversity conservation, environmental protection, climate change mitigation, adaptation, sustainability, & resilience in the Congo Basin. My PhD thesis won the Prix de thèses francophones en Prospective 2022 (Prize for Francophone Theses in Foresight & Futures Studies) from Fondation 2100 & Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie. I am a 2023 Next Generation Foresight Practitioner Fellow (Judges\' Choice) at the School of International Futures (SOIF) in the UK. I am Winner of the Dubai Foresight Awards 2025.Under the pen name NSAH MALA (which I prefer), I’ve published 5 books of poetry (4 in English & 1 in French), 2 picture books in English and French. My poetry and fiction feature in numerous magazines and anthologies globally and I have won literary prizes in Cameroon and France. I\'ve a track record of academic, creative and journalistic publications to my credit in reputed international channels, including academic journals, edited volumes, anthologies, The Conversation, Times Higher Education, & Pan African Visions. My research has received funding and support from SOIF, British Academy, University of Cologne, etc.I have worked across numerous countries and cultures. And I can use my skills, expertise and experience in international organisations to drive change in areas such as education, creativity and culture, climate and environmental communication, climate diplomacy, anticipatory governance, future generations, strategic foresight, cultural aspects of conservation, research and advocacy. I am also experienced in higher education through teaching and research.
