HS2 appointed EKFB to deliver the civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. The scope of the works includes 15 viaducts, 6.9km of green tunnels, 22km of road diversions, 81 bridges and around 30 million cubic metres of excavation. I have been appointed a Senior Engineer to deliver a section of the project for Kier Utilities. I have natural passion for construction having worked mostly in the rail industry since leaving university - 2001 till date. For over 21 years now, I have developed an excellent client-contractor experience in negotiation, communication, Health & Safety, quality, compliances, testing & commissioning, and handover. I have an extensive knowledge of construction health & safety, RAMS, programme coordination & look ahead, setting out & As-Built, tool box talk, Work Package Plan, ITP’s, all Work Permits, daily briefings & inductions, closing outs. Good working knowledge and accurate use of EDM – Robotic Total station (TS 16), GPS, and Laser Level. As a Section Engineer, I co-ordinate with the Engineering team in identifying all critical issues impacting the project completion and adept at creating corrective action plans. As a site manager/engineer with a work package that includes Ground Investigation, surveys like, Drainage (Identity, Jet-wash, and CCTV), Intrusive and Non-Intrusive Asbestos, HazMat Surveys, Existing Building Structural reports, Unexploded Ordinance (UXO)(Desktop), Vermin/Pet, Buried services/Utilities (Mapping, Tag & trace and GPR) As a Quality Assurance Manager to a project and was nominated as the CRE on the TOC modular structure. This involves all ITP validation and signing Form 05, DOWLs, carrying out some verifications and testing. I’m excited about opportunities and challenges that allows me to utilize my proficiency with different engineering tools and as well leverage my existing experience.
