Attorney for government affairs and legal teams representing the interests (domestically and internationally) of the six major film and content creation companies as the leading film, television, and streaming industry advocate across the globe. Provide policy and legal analysis concerning several state and federal legislative media policy issues including social media censorship, obscenity, consumer privacy, and deepfakes. Lead or assist in leading MPA’s regulatory advocacy at relevant agencies (including the FCC and FTC) to promote and protect MPA’s member companies’ interests with respect to a wide array of issues including streaming service obligations and subscriber contracts. Assist with managing several international regulatory matters including registry/domain name accessibility advocacy efforts and ICANN and ITU engagement. Coordinate international regional office (including APAC, EMEA, Canada, and Latin America regions) communication on advocacy strategy with respect to emerging streaming and over-the-top (OTT) regulatory matters. Engage in coalition building activities with stakeholder partners to advance policy positions. Practical duties include project management, collaboration with legal, policy and technical staff, legal research and drafting (including rulemaking comments and legislative provisions), and reviewing legislation/policy proposals.
