About Kenneth Murray

As Assistant Vice President of EHS & Q at The Hallen Construction Company, I’m driven by a deep commitment to human and organizational performance. Since joining Hallen in 2018, I’ve focused on eliminating serious injuries and fatalities (STKYAs) by championing operational learning and empowering the voices of our craft workforce. I believe that safety excellence is achieved not just through compliance, but through collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning.My journey began as an environmental scientist in New Jersey and took me across the globe—from serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Panama to working with the World Health Organization in Switzerland, and leading a malaria surveillance program in Equatorial Guinea. These experiences shaped my belief that health and safety are universal values, and that meaningful change starts with listening and learning.At Hallen, I lead the integration of our safety philosophy, The Capacity Model (TCM), which emphasizes learning from incidents and proactively managing high-energy hazards. I’m also an active member and speaker in industry groups like the Construction Safety Research Alliance (CSRA) and the Distribution Contractors Association (DCA). In 2024, I was honored to be named to the National Safety Council’s “40 Under 40” list of safety professionals.I hold a BSc from Rutgers University and an MSc from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I’m always open to connecting with others who are passionate about advancing safety, learning, and leadership in high-risk industries.
