New Orleans, LA, US

Opened in May 2021, the Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience tells the story of a unique population—originally strangers in a strange land—who found creative ways to adapt to new circumstances, maintain their identities, and weave some pretty special threads into the South’s rich tapestry. It’s a story that resonates with visitors seeking a wider understanding of what it means to be a Southerner and, ultimately, an American. In its first year of operation, MSJE was awarded the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities Exhibit of the Year Award, SEMC Gold Medals for Core Exhibit and Interactive Exhibit, SEMC Bronze Medal for Film, and was ranked #5 in USA Today\'s 10Best Readers\' Choice Poll for Best New Attraction in the United States.Since 2021, more than visitors from across the country and around the world have experienced MSJE.
