About Kenneth Cox
With over 17 years in fire rescue and emergency management, I’ve had the privilege of leading dedicated men and women across South Florida in all of my roles I’ve served in from Firefighter to Battalion Chief. My career has never been just about answering the call—it’s about giving everything I have to the people and communities I serve. I believe in the mindset of die tired: pouring yourself into something that matters, leaving nothing on the table when it comes to protecting lives and building resilience. As a long-standing member of Florida Task Force II Urban Search and Rescue, I’ve been on the ground during some of the nation’s toughest moments—hurricanes, structural collapses, and large-scale disasters where every decision counts. These experiences have strengthened my resolve to lead with courage, clarity, and a relentless commitment to my people and those depending on us.I hold an Associates Degree in Emergency Medical Services from Broward College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management from Barry University, and a Master’s Degree in Fire Executive Leadership from Columbia Southern University, sharpening my ability to drive meaningful change and prepare for the challenges ahead. Education fuels my vision, but my foundation will always be rooted in service, sacrifice, and a deep respect for the communities I protect. The fire service is more than a career for me—it’s a calling to give, to mentor, and to lead by example. I’m passionate about creating a culture where we push ourselves beyond limits, because true leadership means showing up, standing firm, and giving your best until there’s nothing left to give.I welcome the chance to connect with others who share this passion for service, resilience, and making a difference—because the work we do matters, and the future we build together is worth every ounce of effort.
