About Kennedy Ogden

As an undergraduate teaching assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University, I assist the lead professor in teaching foundational AI concepts, including machine learning, neural networks, and other core techniques. My responsibilities include grading assignments, quizzes, and research projects while providing constructive feedback to help students grow in both their technical understanding and confidence. I also host office hours, offering one-on-one support and troubleshooting to ensure students feel supported and heard.Beyond the classroom, I’m deeply passionate about making computer science education more inclusive and accessible. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to see themselves in tech, especially those who may not feel traditionally represented in the field. Through my work as a tutor, mentor, and most recently as a Computer Science Education Intern at CodeVA, I’ve been committed to creating learning environments where curiosity is welcomed and learners of all backgrounds feel empowered to explore computer science confidently!I’ve been involved in various tutoring and teaching roles since August 2024 and have earned certifications in Python, SQL, and Data Science Foundations from LinkedIn Learning, reflecting my commitment to continuous growth. While my degree is in Computer Science, my true passion lies in statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making. With a concentration and minor in Data Science and a strong foundation in statistics, I aim to use my analytical thinking, technical skills, and communication abilities to drive real-world impact, whether that’s improving processes, uncovering insights, or advising organizations on strategy. I’m eager to apply these strengths in an internship or early-career role that blends data science with meaningful, human-centered work.
