About Kennedy Erickson
I’m an independent community pharmacist passionate about empowering patients and improving health outcomes. I love helping patients truly understand their medications, feel confident asking questions, and take control of their well-being. Whether it’s guiding someone through complex prescriptions, providing mental health support with long-acting antipsychotic injectables, or offering compliance packaging to help patients regain independence, every day is a chance to make a meaningful difference.Community pharmacy faces real challenges. Limited payment models for clinical services, regulatory barriers, and the ongoing need for transformation… but I see these challenges as opportunities for innovation! I’m inspired by ways pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians can expand their roles, implement creative solutions, and strengthen the impact of community pharmacy on patient care. Positive change happens when we embrace collaboration, action, and forward-thinking solutions.This year, I’m proud to serve as Chair-elect for Community Pharmacy Practice for the American Pharmacists Association. In this community, we are focusing on turning challenges into opportunities, encouraging colleagues to get involved, and helping shape the future of our profession.Outside of pharmacy, I recharge through hiking, Pilates, playing piano, experimenting with vegan recipes, and perfecting sourdough baking. These pursuits energize me, broaden my perspective, and allow me to show up as my best self for patients, colleagues, and community alike.I’m always excited to connect with fellow professionals, explore innovative projects, and find new ways to expand the reach and impact of community pharmacy.
