Redesigned and developed custom network data path through Istio Ingress Gateway by manipulating TCP packets to include proxy header with source IP. This design is an extension to support IBM Cloud platform “Context Based Restriction” (CBR) feature within Hyper Protect Crypto Services (HPCS) Product. Enabling this support, provided customers the ability to enforce rules using the requester source IP on HPCS API endpoints adding an extra layer of security in real-time• Lead network design, software development and deployment to support Hyper Protect Crypto Services (HPCS) Product infrastructure migration to IBM Cloud Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) replacing IBM Cloud Load Balancer as A Service (LBaaS) solution to Kubernetes with installed add-on Istio. Migrating to Istio, which is serving as middleware in HPCS service stack controlling inbound and outbound traffic. With the new design, provisioning, updating and de-provisioning HPCS improved by 99% and drastically simplified the networking configuration• Lead software and architectural design, development and deployment on integration of IBM Cloud platform “Context Based Restriction” (CBR) feature within Hyper Protect Crypto Services (HPCS) Product, enabling users the ability to configure restrictions on network location of access requests. This feature added an extra layer of access request protection based on originator IP address and is a wrapper around the Identity and Access Management (IAM) system that HPCS customers use at baseline for user access on account resources. The key impact of CBR used with HPCS granted customers the ability to expand their control by scoping usage of HPCS API endpoints with enhanced security based on real-time factors such as, location, device and user behavior
