About Kendall Rock
I might be on a mission to find out how many \"full-time\" jobs one person can have, but I just LOVE working for myself. The freedom, flexibility, and places my work takes me has been so important in the shaping of me. I used to want to be a documentary filmmaker, and studied filmmaking in (liberal arts) college, and I think that early conditioning has deeply influenced my photography style. For weddings, I seek to capture the full story of the day, snippets of movement that bring to memory that feeling of being there. On tour, I love the behind-the-scenes photos more than the flashy on stage performance ones. Besides my photography business, I also run Collective Chemistry, a coworking space in Ballard exclusive to self-employed and freelancer folks, and work part time at KEXP on the video team (the only video gig I do anymore!). I tour regularly with Gregory Alan Isakov as a photographer, and recently tour managed for Blind Pilot, which was very fun and hard. I keep busy, then sleep all winter.The dream? Move back to the Kitsap Peninsula and open an event venue on some land with my sister. Photograph weddings, go on tour, and throw festivals for my community. I\'m chipping away!
