As a Clinical Fellow – Speech‑Language Pathologist at AdventHealth Kissimmee, a 282‑bed tertiary, teaching hospital and primary stroke center in Osceola County, I evaluate and treat patients across acute care and inpatient rehabilitation settings. I conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, cognitive function, and swallowing safety using standardized tools and clinical observations. Drawing on ASHA best practices, I develop and implement individualized treatment plans—incorporating evidence-based interventions, adaptive equipment recommendations, and payer-specific guidelines. I closely monitor patient response, adjusting therapy to optimize outcomes, and ensure accurate, timely documentation using objective measurable language. In collaboration with physicians, nurses, PT/OT, dietitians, and social workers, I support coordinated care and smooth discharge transitions. As part of my Clinical Fellowship Year, I also engage in mentorship, supervision, and professional development under the guidance of seasoned clinicians—all within AdventHealth’s mission-driven culture of whole-person care that uplifts body, mind, and spirit.
