ABOUT KEN BIRD

With a natural aptitude for figuring out how things work and a drive toward continuous improvements, I began my career as a Red Seal Journeyman Welder. During this time, I gained exposure to a variety of manufacturing areas, which propelled me to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering and set me on my journey toward leadership. Upon completion of my studies, I launched my career tenure at Weldco-Beales Manufacturing Ltd. as an engineer and advanced to lead operational turnarounds and resurgences. Subsequently, I was promoted into a newly-established VP Operations role and sought to broaden my skill set through the pursuit of a Graduate Diploma in Management and an MBA. Ultimately, I was named VP, Innovation and Technology. As the VP, Innovation and Technology, I assumed a multipronged mandate for developing, converting, and revitalizing the company’s engineering department into a business-driven, client-focused organization. My diverse career experiences have armed me with an arsenal of strengths, which I believe would position me well to take on a subsequent role as VP, Operations in a manufacturing setting. Among these strengths, I have earned a reputation as an effective change agent, decisive leader, and entrepreneurial thinker. I have cultivated an expertise in manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and metal and steel fabrication. Furthermore, I offer the business acumen needed to maintain full P&L responsibility. If we have done business or if you are interested in forging a new connection, let’s connect via LinkedIn.
