Since my first day as a lawyer, I have been a trial lawyer and a lawyer specializing in representing individuals and small businesses. Our work at JJS is extraordinarily rewarding. We get to help families provide health care and needed services for their brain injured children, push back against dangerous drugs, and stop small businesses from being taken advantage of by powerful corporations.Some of my personal high points were achieving the highest verdict ever in Iowa for a brain injured child ($13.5 million), a $48 million verdict in SC for a small business against a Fortune 500 company, obtaining compensation for farmers all along the east coast when a major chemical manufacturer contaminated their farms and orchards, and successfully trying a case in Chicago involving international intellectual property theft.
