Removed kgs of weapons-usable material (enough for ~50 improvised nuclear bombs) from vulnerable sites by the President’s 4-year deadline (and many more in the years after). Likewise, thousands of sites with radiological materials were secured. • From 2013 to 2024: led efforts to modernize our nation’s nuclear weapons research and production infrastructure. This includes facilities comprising ~$130B in real property assets and ~$6B in annual appropriations. Led several unprecedented initiatives: increased the minor construction limit from $10M in FY17 to $34M in FY24, streamlined NNSA’s construction requirements to commercial-like standards, and acquire facilities faster via first-of-a-kind purchases.
