About Ken Ricker

Now over 35 years of experience at ms consultants, inc, it has been a privilege assisting clients in a the planning, design, financing and construction of a variety of projects, including public water supply, treatment, and distribution, wastewater collection & treatment, parks & recreation, as well as solid and hazardous waste management. After graduating from The Ohio State University and prior to joining ms, I also had seven years of public service performing engineering reviews of studies and construction documents and providing technical assistance to governmental agencies and in financing their wastewater projects through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Division of Environmental & Financial Assistance.

   As Project Director:Assist project managers within the ms Water Business Unit by monitoring and providing guidance relative to technical, budgetary and scheduling aspects of the assignment. Aid the client through identifying value-added opportunities for project through intergovernmental cooperation, and/or financing and funding programs. Assist project managers by serving as client liaison with regulatory agencies or other political jurisdictions. Provide dispute avoidance and claims resolution expertise, if necessary, for projects involving construction administration and on-site observation activities.As Sr. Project Manager:Directs multidisciplinary project teams, including recommendations for technology applications. Reviewed findings and present final reports to client. Coordinate the preparation of project drawings, bid documents, specifications and cost estimates, including delivery of progress sets and final documents to client. Responsible for technical accuracy of entire project using quality assurance procedures. Ensure budget and schedule compliance. Serve as primary client liaison. Assist client in solicitation of bids, issuance of addenda and recommended award of contract based on the evaluation of bids received. Direct project team in performing construction administration and on-site observation activities. Evaluate the merits of Contractor requests for additional costs or time and assist client in change order negotiations.
