ABOUT KEN PORTER

I am a senior engineering and product executive with more than 28 years at Fender Musical Instruments Corporation, where I currently serve as Senior Vice President of Engineering. I lead global teams across hardware, software, and digital systems, with a focus on building strong organizations, guiding complex product development, and delivering reliable results across multiple product categories.Over the years I have overseen the development and launch of hundreds of products from guitar amplifiers and modeling platforms to audio interfaces, studio monitors, and DAW software. My work spans analog and digital engineering, embedded systems, DSP, cloud connected experiences, and end to end product lifecycle management. I have supported major lines such as Mustang, Tone Master, Quantum, and Fender Studio Pro, helping scale them from early concepts to global production.I am passionate about improving execution, developing leaders, and creating clarity between engineering, product, and operations. My experience includes post acquisition integration, supply chain collaboration, safety and compliance, manufacturing partnerships, and building engineering processes that support both innovation and predictable delivery. In addition to my full time responsibilities, I occasionally share guidance with founders and operators on topics such as engineering team structure, product development frameworks, and hardware and software integration. I enjoy helping organizations think through technical direction, long term planning, and operational readiness on a selective and limited basis.Fluent in English and German, I hold an electrical engineering degree from Arizona State University and advanced technical degrees from institutions in Germany. I bring a global perspective, a steady leadership style, and a deep understanding of how to scale teams, products, and organizations in fast moving environments.
