About Ken Martin

As Mission Commander on the Boeing E-6B aircraft, I am directly responsible for the overall execution of the mission, including planning, safety, team well-being, and meeting mission objectives. I have also served in roles as a Program Manager with Operational Test and Evaluation Force, focusing on strategic alignment, resource management and delivery of intended outcomes while managing a portfolio of nine programs. Currently, as a Tactical Action Officer onboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, I lead a team of 45 personnel in a highly intense environment, responsible for the self defense of the ship, while managing associated projects for my team such as, maintenance schedules, performance evaluation, and associated administrative requirements. My leadership is grounded in a BS in Communications from Old Dominion University in Norfolk. Prior to earning my degree and commissioning as an officer, I served as an enlisted Helicopter Rescue Swimmer and Aerial Door Gunner Instructor. This diverse foundation equips me to be a strong leader while maintaining amazing relationships with co-workers across the entire organizational structure, from entry level to seniors.I\'m passionate about mentoring and empowering others, I am committed to fostering professional growth and inspiring teams to tackle complex challenges.    Develops, organizes, and conducts PCO/TAO Warfare Coordinator Sensor to Weapon and Electronic Warfare training for Officers assigned to all SSDS baselines. Conducts conventional classroom podium and SSDS laboratory training with a focus on doctrine-supported employment of relevant sensors and Hard-kill and Soft-kill weapon systems.Updates course documentation on a regular basis to ensure timeliness and relevance.Conducts dynamic assessment of the Ship’s Warfare Coordinators supporting Officer watch standers, analyzing their skills and abilities and providing formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement.
